Care and Maintenance

Care Tips – Floor Carpets

Regular Vacuuming: Make vacuuming part of your cleaning schedule to get rid of dust particles plus other debris from your floor carpets. Focus on high traffic areas at least once after every week or fortnight for less frequently used areas. Use vacuum cleaner having rotating brush or beater bar for effective dirt lifting off as well as rejuvenation of carpet fibers.
Spot Cleaning: Accidents do happen but quick response can stop stains from settling into the carpet. Whenever spills occur, blot up excess liquid immediately using a clean cloth or towel without rubbing which can make it worse but gently dabbing from outside towards its centre until the stain is absorbed. Mild carpet cleaner or water with white vinegar for harder stains can be used if required.
Professional Cleaning: Although regular maintenance may keep your carpet looking fresh, professional cleaning will help remove deep rooted dirt, allergens and odors out. Plan at least one annual professional cleaning service for your carpet or even more often if there is heavy foot traffic at home or children plus pets reside within.

Furniture Maintenance

Dust/Polish: Dust regularly and polish furniture to maintain shine while also protecting its finish. A soft microfiber cloth should be used when removing dust particles/dirt before polishing using a good quality wood surface nourishing polish.
Avoid Sun Exposure: The sun’s rays over time cause fading together with damage on furniture finishes directly exposed to it. Place away from windows/curtains & blinds can be employed to limit sun exposure.
Use Furniture Protectors: Under heavy furniture, always have coasters or pads beneath the legs in order to avoid floor scratches and dents. Similarly, place mats and coasters will protect table tops from spills and hot utensils.

Preventive Measures

Rotate & Rearrange: Once in a while re-arrange furniture with rotating rugs to ensure that they wear out uniformly. This reduces excessive wearing on both your carpets and furniture thereby extending their respective life spans.
